Curly Dock is a perennial broadleaf weed that grows in a rosette form.  It has a long deep taproot and when found in unmaintained areas it can erect and grow to heights as tall as 5 feet.  In addition, in absence of regular mowing Curly dock will produce tall stocks with greenish clusters of flowers at the top.

They turn brownish color as they ripen.  The leaves of Curly dock grow from the central rosette and are 6-8” long.  They have an elliptical oval shape with distinct wavy, curly margins similar to that of lettuce.

Selective post emergent weed control products can be used to help minimize and eliminate infestations.

Canada thistle is rather competitive and even the best cared for lawns may have some.  Post-emergent selective control options are available and are relatively effective.
